Mission Statement
Springfield Aquatics (SPA) is a year-round USA swimming team dedicated to providing a Safe and Professional Development program of swim instructions, competition, and the opportunity to experience success at a local and national level in swimming. The SPA coaching staff thrives to teach young athletes not only the fundamentals of the sport, but also the value of good sportsmanship, discipline, and dedication. The goal is for developing swimmers to the best of their abilities to achieve success in swimming.
Vision Statement
Provide a Safe Sport program for every swimmer so they can achieve excellence in training, team unity, family support, and a lifelong love for swimming where every athlete achieves their ultimate swimming potential.
Organization
SPA is a member of USA Swimming, the national governing body of the sport in this country. SPA is a member of the Arknanasas State Swimming Organizaiton. Our SPA swimmers members are split into practice groups according to age and ability. SPA is a governed by a Parent Board Association which oversees club operations, fundraising, and activities.
Facility
The Springfield Aquatics program operates year round. Practices are held at Breech Pool located in the Weiiser Gym/Hutchens HPER facility on the Drury University campus. Built in 1988, Drury University’s pool is a ten lane, 25-yard facility equipped with an Oaktronics automatic timing system and a large scoreboard. Breech Pool is home to the Drury University Panthers, National NCAA-II Champion Men’s and Women’s Swimming Teams.
