Coaching Staff

Brian Reynolds, Head Coach of the Drury Men's and Women's Lady Panther's National Championship Division II Teams

Coach Reynolds is one of the most accomplished coaches in collegiate swimming & diving, he is entering his 39th year as the head coach at Drury for the Panthers men’s team and the 34th season leading the women’s program.  Coach Reynolds has been at the helm for 33 national championships at Drury, having led the men’s team to win eight NAIA national titles, 12 NCAA-II crowns, three women’s NAIA national championships, and 10 NCAA-II women’s national titles.

 

Chris Oleksiak,  Senior Group Coach 

 

Coach Chris will start his second year at Drury University as the Associate Head Coach for the men's and women's swimming & diving program in 2024-25 and second year with SPA. Coach Chris coaches the Sprint group at Drury.

In his first year at Drury, the DU women's team won the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship and finished 3rd at the NCAA-II National Championships. The men's team was the NCAA-II Runner-Up. 

Oleksiak joined the Panthers and SPA in October of 2023 after serving as the Head Age Group Coach and Assistant Senior Coach at the Center Grove Aquatic Club and Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana.

At Center Grove, Oleksiak was selected to the Team Indiana Staff for the 2023 Duel in the Pool Meet. Oleksiak also led the CGAC Age Group program to their first top 10 finish at the Age Group meet since 2010. Coach Chris helped lead the Senior program to a top 5 finish at Senior State and the High School program to top 10 finishes at High School state. He was the Distance and Fly group coaches at CGAC.

Before coaching at Center Grove, Oleksiak was the Head Swim Coach at Tri-West Swim Club, Tri-West Middle School, and the assistant coach at Tri-West High School in Lizton, Indiana. 

Oleksiak was the Head Age Group Coach and Assistant High School Swim Coach for the Franklin Regional Swim Team and Franklin Community High School in Franklin, Indiana. Oleksiak coached the state runner-up for both the boy and girl high school programs in 2019 at the IHSAA State Championship. 

Before becoming a full time swim coach, Oleksiak was an officer in the U.S. Army from 2010 to 2014. Coach Chris is married to Kelli, and has 4 children: Rosalind, Luke, Sophia, and Eric - all swimmers. 

 

Chris Kohler, Gold Coach & Head Age Group Coach

     

Chris grew up swimming in Houston, TX and swam for Drury University from 2008-2012.  He was a member of the DII National Championship team all 4 years and a NCAA All-American 2009, 2010, and 2012.  He swam the 50, 100, 200, and 500 freestyle.  He has a degree in mathematics and is coaching his 9th year as part of USA Swimming.  Chris is married to Hannah, also a Drury University Alum, they have a daughter named Harper.  

 

Angie Kearbey, Bronze Coach

   

Angie swam growing up and has loved every part of swimming.  When she was 16 she coached a local summer team and fell in love with an entirely different piece of the sport and she hasn't looked back since.  Angie moved to Springfield and began working with SPA in 2010 and has coached all levels during her time with SPA. She enjoys working with each practice group for different reasons.  Her favorite strokes to teach are the butterfly and breaststroke. There are a very few things she loves more than a good IM set.
